Dat heeft het lectoraat Brandveiligheidskunde van NIPV onderzocht binnen het Europees onderzoeksproject EU FireStat. Onderzoeker en coauteur Margrethe Kobes vertelt: \u201cIn een consortium hebben we samengewerkt met universiteiten en andere partners uit negen verschillende landen. Het doel van het project was om op data gebaseerde beslissingen over brandveiligheid mogelijk te maken. En om de lidstaten van de EU te ondersteunen bij acties en initiatieven rondom brandveiligheid en brandpreventie.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Uniforme aanpak voor verzamelen van brandstatistiek<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cVan het deelproject \u2018Data needed for decision making\u2019 was collega Rijk van den Dikkenberg projectleider. Dat project heeft voorstellen opgeleverd voor een uniforme aanpak voor het verzamelen van brandstatistiek in de EU. Hiervoor hebben we onder andere ge\u00efnventariseerd welke data door de verschillende instituten al wordt verzameld en welke data nodig is om de brandveiligheid in de EU en de afzonderlijke lidstaten te verbeteren\u201d, aldus Kobes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">NIPV internationaal op de kaart<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Lector Brandveiligheidskunde Lieuwe de Witte is trots op de kennis en ervaring die zijn lectoraat heeft ingebracht in dit project: \u201cNIPV was gevraagd om aan het EU-project mee te werken vanwege onze aanpak van het verzamelen en analyseren van fatale woningbranden, die internationaal al langer bekend is en veel lof oogst.
